First thing first, you should open your computer once again, and check if your hard disk is properly connected. Hard Drive Doesn't Show Up In Disk Management when i plugged it in windows had an issue with it. I perviously used Computer managment to format the new internal HD but that did nothing.
This process will take a few hours for 1TB, so just be patient and wait.

I brought my 1TB External Drive to these guys and they got files back even after a fall down 2 flights of stairs lol. But my old tape backups from almost 20 years ago still worked fine (used an older computer & Windows 2000 to recover those "ancient" files dating back to 1994). solved My external HDD Hard drive does not show up in file explorer but shows up in Device manager.
